Hi! Long time since i update my blog. Lately had been working on my reel. So it is time to share some stuff. Been working on 2 model. 1 is steamboy, another is my repaint Jess Bane which i more or less done with her. I just need to render the turn table then i can concentrate on my Steamboy.

Big Bear Mountain

Went over to Big bear mountain for a short trip. Well brought my D90 along to do some test. Kinda lost with the exposure meter . So the pics may not turn out as nice as D40X. I sold my D40X to my friend haha hope she can take good care of it. :)

I took some video during the trip but i downres it when i uploaded to Flickr. Pretty nice to have video function in D90.

Yo some small update here. Actually wanted to go to bear mountain to see snow. I equip myself with all the thermal wear and etc then realise need to snow chain to go up the mountain. Hahah i had enough of snow chain so change our designation to Torrey Pines park.

In this park, it is so call 1 of the place that you can find this rare trees called the Torrey Pines in the whole CA. Nevertheless, hope you guys enjoy the pics :)

Fun at Lake Tahoe

Yo back to some stories on my last year holiday. Sorry for taking so long to update my blog. Haha too many things to do but not sure do which 1.. XD In Lake Tahoe, i seen 1 of the most beautiful sunset in my life, snow mountain with beautiful orange sky.

First sight of snow in life

Hi guys! Finally got some time to update the holiday trip i had on Dec 08. It fulfilled my long awaited dreams that is to "SEE, Experience and play in Snow". As most of the guys had seen the pic i posted in flickr (I assume LOL). So in here i just do the overview of my trip. :)

Upon reaching Yosemite

Words cannot express my excitement when i see this!

I wish i could bring my loves one to see this

However, we got into a jammed cos of accident and wasted few hrs

After the jammed, we seen even nice views!
All the sudden we spotted this lake with lota small rocks covered with ice. Look like little little icecream. :)

My first experience lying in the bed of snow :)

We finally reached out cabin

When i open the door, u will see this magnificent
snow mountain right infront of u.

Our second day, the weather does not seems to be good
It is raining ice... (Not snowing)
It is way colder when raining then to snowing

We saw great view but the weather kinda ruins it.
We hid in the toilet to dry our self just to take this few waterfall shots.

We are actually hiking under the weather condition like this.

When the raining turn to snow again, we began to do fun stuff

We buried Yifei. LOL

We all started playing in the snow. LOL
After the great fun everyone got hungry and went to have our dinner

Sadly, our last day the weather turns out to be very good.

Finally see blue sky now,
but we have to move on to Lake Tahoe

Nice weather but bad snow covering our car.
After clearing the snow, Mingwei made a Snow taxi light on his GT.
So we move out, stop to take great scenery.
Below here is the Half Dome Mountain.

Day 3 in San Francisco

The most memorable moments of the tripNever in my life time i had 2 tires burst in 1 day LOL. Well, I save the story for later.

6am at Port of San Francisco
Is freaking cold here to wait for sun rise

I saw this loving couple. Is really romantic despite the cold.
When will be my turn for this romantic stuff?

After the sunrise, we return to our DOM, packed up and go.

We began moving out of San Francisco

We on our way to our last destination, Lake Tahoe

We drive pass Golden gate bridge, estimated time to travel is ard 3hrs

But then....
Ok the story is like this. When we travel half way, i told Yifei abt his car
is shaking. I suspect is the tire is not enough air. So we went to the
petrol kiosk to pump his tires. So he pump the tires, i went in the shop to buy
some sweets. So when i come out of the shop and ask Yifei is he done with
the pumping, i heard,,, tac tac.. tac... Then i asked... wats sound was that..
then Yifei touch the tire, BOMB!! The tire burst right infront of us

So we called Mingwei for rescue to change the spare tire

His tire is hard to find man... 195/50/15 i still remember the size

We finally found his tire.. The shop is almost closing

They close at 230pm. We reach ard 2++ Lucky US!! WOO
While changing tire half way, then saw this truck spinning his way

Well from here on, i never take anymore pics because we burst another tire after we change 1 tire. Our whole car spin just like the truck pic which u saw just now. But the truck spin intentionally but ours is unintentionally. Our car spin till the road shoulder luckily it stopped as 1 side of the car had fallen of the shoulder already. Is getting dark and cold outside. I thinking i might be sleeping in the car for the night... Lucky Yifei got Iphone began searching for help. We called the towing service half way a Patrol cop bike can and ask wat happen. We told him our tire burst and he help us called the towing service. We waited till the tow truck came and tow our car to the nearest town.

As the time is already 6pm. All the shop is closed. So we had to go to the nearest motel and had our car unloaded then think of a solution. We ca,,ed Mingwei once we reached the motel. So we change the spare tire again. then rest for the day.

The Next day (Day 4)
Mingei = Gone

Yifei was stressed

Cos most shop never open on Sun (Keng Yeow)

Even if they open, they dun have his tire
So they hop on Mingwei car to recce ard
while KengYeow and myelf stay at room

Finally found the tire shop to change the remaining 3 tires

Driving through with this kind of fog condition..

Day 2 in San Francisco

Alcatraz Island Tour

Our Day 2 in San Francisco mainly consist of the Alcatraz Island Tour. In the morning to took the tram to the Pier where we can take the ferry to Alcatraz.

Once we disembarked the ferry, u will see this guy talking.
Basically he was like giving all the visitor some introduction of Alcatraz.

The main Juice of this trip is the Audio tour

The audio tour is really quite impressive. The ambient sound they did
really create the atmosphere during that time. If you guys visit here,
be sure not to miss this tour.

Well behave prison are able to come here to play some games

If i not mistaken this is the isolation cell, it was a pitch black cell.
Misbehave prisoner will be thrown into here.

This is the riot between the prisoner and warden officers.
Well the board there bascially tell the story wat happen.
To cut the story short, the prisoner kill some warden officers
which is held hostage in this cell.

Yo guys! Too fast for another update?? Haha. Oh well, i actually suppose to go to LA. But because of the fire happening along the freeway. We have to change our course and so we end up Newport Beach for some scenery shoot and some local specialty. XD

Alright guys! I'm back for more adventure in the theme park. This time round is the Knot'ts Berry Farm. Well, we are here is because of our company(F9E) having their 1 year anniversary celebration. We have some simple gathering with food and drinks. After which, we are free to play in the park.

Yo guys! Finally is time again for some greats picture. This time will be the Disneyland in CA. Well, this is my second Disneyland. The first 1 i went was in Tokyo. We were here cos it was Karen's birthday. It was really fun experience. We got the Annual Pass which is not cheaper. It cos $174USD. Ouch! Burn my pocket. Can't buy toys for a while. Haha. Ok less talk more pics. :)

You will think... Nay just some toys display. The fun part is when this machine start to spin. At first u see nothing other than the spinning. Till the light in the machine flashes 18 times in 1 second, then u begin to see this toys in action. Unfortunately, camera can't take that. I will ask Shaida which she took a video of this. Once i got the clip. i will post it .

After we came out of the Animation acedemy, it was already dark. The time was only 5.40pm

We took this indoor water ride. The atmosphere was good.
From time to time i was wonder are we indoor or outdoor. Well all is indoor. :)

We took this star tour ride. I somehow feel i had taken this ride before.
This can cause dizzlyness. So beware haha.

Ok now we have come to the epic of disneyland.
The great fireworks which lasted ard 15mins of non stop actions, effects, and fireworks.

i went to this spot to take the zombies nurse which is located at our front door.
This zombie nurse is the creature from Silent Hill 5. Look pretty creepy.

I got this figure at Anime King as mention in the previous post. Finally got time to take photo of her. I woke up really really early in the morning. (7am) Becos i know i gonna do a outdoor shoot, not sure what time the lighting is best so i woke up early to try out see what time best to do the photo shoot. Well because of this i woke up my room mate when i leaving the housing hahha.

Ok bascially i got my tripod my figure and went to few potiential spot to take pics around my appartment. In this shoot i try 3 places. The first set of pics which i took in the first place was scrap off. Cos the later 2 places where i took the pic was way better!! Really have great fun take pic although i have very limited room for me to move around while taking the pic.

The sculpt was pretty nice. With interchangeable parts [Shirt and skirt]. The shirt has a very nice design on seam. It has a very small hook in the inner side to hook up. Basically the hook is just like a clipper than u need to detach when u gonna change the shirt from the clean version to the battle damage 1. This figure come with a 2 piece stand. 1 on each foot. U can go without the stand and she still stand up quite steady. The finished was clean i got really nothing much to complain on this figure. If to complain, the only thing i would say is the time when i changing from her clean shirt to the battle damage shirt. It too me quite a while to take it off. Maybe is just me. LOL

I rarely do outdoor shoot for my figure.Lazy to ride all the way to Botanic garden . Anyway, around my apartment have very nice environment. Great to take toy pic . Hope you guys love these pics. I really have lota nice pics. Is so hard to pick out the best out of the best.

Yo Guys! Now i trying to be An OTAKU in looking Anime Shop in US. I found a couple of the address so rented a car and driving around to look for those shops. Although i went to some of the shops in the list but sadly i so far only found 1 which is in the Golden West College which is along the Edinger Ave. The other few address which i drove there is either they shifted out or i can't find parking lot. (Need to pay 20 bucks)

Nevertheless, when i manage to found the Anime Shop, we saw something intresting happening on the opposite road of the Anime Shop.

This shop own quite a few rare uncommon import. Pretty glad i went in to look ard. The price is actually around the market price but becos of currency different so is more costy. I even saw MP 4 but wat too costy 320USD. However, i got 1 figure from there which is too cheap to be true. Overall, I give this shop a 4/5 stars.

In sg i thinking of getting it cos i have some voucher in the toy shop. The cosing in sg i saw is 75sg. So i got it in 30 US. So is ard 45sg. Oh well, can't resist the temptation.

For a 45sg toy then come with all this freebies seems not a bad deal. I not yet open the CD. Will update again once i check the CD. The illustration books looks good!

This conclude the Otaku toy hunt in US part 1. I not sure when i will be doing part 2. Will be doing more research on the toy shops before going there and see nothting there.

Jess Bane (Fire Specialist) WIP

Hi, I'm back for some update in the fire mage i been doing. I decided to called her Jess Bane. She is actually 1 of my character in Guild wars. Well she was a Fire Elementalist in the game. I decided to do up a version of mine. I got the basic layout of the model and the total poly atm is 10.5k Tris.

You guys will sure say. So little detail 10k already?? Well, atm i SHELL the jacket and it double the poly. At the same time, I can delete faces that will not be seen as well. I can bring the poly count maybe till ard 7k or less after doing those clean up. I still need to build up some props and build the hair mesh. The total poly i try to go under 10k best will be ard 7 to 8k Tris. The the rest of the detail will be done in Zbrush.

Atm i struggling on the LOD (Level of detail) For eg, her skirt at the start i only model just a simple shape but end up i added some simple fold details. Well i have to really complete the whole model and see how much is the poly count then do the adjustment i guess. Will update again once i have done up all her props. Stay tune!

Concept Character

Had not been traveling lately. So i pick my pencil and begin to brain storm for character. I finally come out something like this. I gona make this my first low poly character and will be zbrushing most of the detail.

Will try to make the poly count range from 5k to 9k tris. In this model, i hope to achieve a ingame model as well as cinematic model. This time round i should still be using the old school way, model then sculpt. So i can control the topo in max.

I been trying to figure out how to use the retopology in Zbrush. It dun seem to be work good for me. It will be cool if i can get the hang of this retopology thingy. For now, i will be doing up my first game model. Will be posting the WIP.

Heres the concept. I not sure wat name i should give her. I doing her base some criteria like fire elementalist, mage and etc.

San Diego Trip

Yo Guys! I am back for San Diego Trip. I kinda like Danny choo. He has been doing 1 week tour in certain area in Japan. Well, i not so lucky like him that know how to speak Japanese. Nevertheless, i try to cover as much place in US during my stay to show to you guys :)

Our first stop that on our way to San Diego is a beach call South Carlsbad State Beach. But before that we stopped over a resting area to take a break. The resting area was pretty nice. Like a mini park. They have animals too!!

After taking a short break we proceed to the Beach. I had cover some beaches in US. So i make it short for this time round.

At this point we actually saw a path and wanted to go in to see whats inside. Then we saw this sign. This place got TICKS. Glad we stopped and turn back.

At this point, we getting hungry so we decided to head to the San Diego Convention center area to have our lunch as well to explore around there.

However on that day we arrived. There seems to be no event going on so is really quiet. Since we got some time, we rush back to Santa Juan. We wanted to see the destroyed church in that area.

LA Trip

I dunno when i will get my internet. So i mind as well do a double post. :) Ok just a quick summary of where we go. Basically in the afternoon, our first stop is at Little Tokyo. Well, as i ask Munhow where i can get those Anime figure in California? So he brought us to this place. That place that selling the figure was rather strict on no photography. I was stopped by the guard for taking photos. So sadly to say, i dun have pics on the shop selling the Anime figure. After Little Tokyo, we went to Universal Studio. After which we went to Hollywood and our last stop is at Santa Monica beach.

This guy is funny. I was taking picture which my camera is pointing at his direction. So he stopped me telling me to pay up. I show him i never too his pic but he kinda not listening. So i ask him how much to pay him. He say any amount. So i said 1 buck and ask him pose for me. He agreed and i got this. Well not a bad deal so as not to create too much trouble. Well just have to be careful on where you point your camera in this area.

Crystal Cove

Hi finally able to hijack the internet again. So making use the bandwith and fulfill the promise i made. Which is the beach photos. We went to the beach over the long week end as 1st Sept was a labour day in US. We went on the beach on Sun and on labour day we went some places in LA. I will cover that in the next topic.

1 Week in US

Some updates in US.

Hi Guys!!! It had been a week since i left Singapore. Well, so far life in US is good. Though it cost me a bit to get my self settle. I don't have internet at the moment. I'm hijacking my bandwidth. Actually i wanted till i got my internet then i start updating my blog. But i decided to share some pics which i had so much. Will try to travel around when i manage to get a car here. I will be going some trouble getting 1 here. Well less words more pics. :)

After almost 20 hrs.... We arrive in San Franco Airport. We are actually waiting for a domestic flight to fly to John Wayne Airport. Lets see how is my peer. HEHE.

Lawrence

Lawrence is my housemate. Both of us living in the same apartment. However, ours is a 1 room apartment. He is fine to live in the living room so as to cut down on our rental. Well feeling quite bad about this, i decided to pay more on the rental to compensate back. Well he know how to cook. Kinda to lucky to have someone who know how to cook :)

Justin

Well as for Justin, he is like my buddy since we got to this programme. This is because i saw him from the start once i got the offer in F9E from EDB. Both of us think quite similarly. He is quite a hardcore gamer. Just like someone i knew in 3d Sense. Bought all the game console and original games and etc. Good to have him around. Just that he is the only 1 that is on a 12 mths attachement. Thats why he opt to stay on his own as he don't want to trouble us. Cool Guys isn't it?? :)

Extended Stay

We took around 1.5hrs till we reach John Wayne Airport. From there, Char from F9E came to pick us up and send us to our Hotel which is call the Extended Stay. Despite, the jet lag and never slept well the day before the flight, we still wanato go out. The people here are really friendly. 1 lady offer us a ride to a place call District. Bascially you can shop, watch movie and etc.

Well the lady that drove us here saying that it will be crowded over the weekend. We arrived on the thu so no much people. I think we reached there rather late and most of the shop had already close. So bascially i just walk around taking pictures to this foreign place.

Well to get back to our hotel from here, a typical singaporean will look for a taxi stand or go to the main road to flag a cab. However, you can never do it here. Basically, you have to call the taxi center then they will send a cabby to our location to pick us up. The worst thing we don't have a cell phone on our first day of arrival.... We kinda in a bad situation. Luckily we manage to get a public phone and manage to call for a cab. But we waited almost an hour and making several call to check where is the cab and etc. And another thing, Cab here is not cheap!!! Every time it jump 60 to 70 cent..... Compare to SG cab that jump 10 cent every time.

Day 2

Car rented for the day

We rented this car on our second day and we gona run errands for the whole day. So a car is needed. I'm the driver and luckily i had Justin as the VC(Vehicle Commander) to read the map. Well i made some turning mistake. And the signal light is on the left as well... The right lever was the wiper. Been hitting that when i first drove lol. Kinda thrilling haha.Turning onto oncoming lane. Luckily the traffic was good not much cars. We went to confirm our new home, which we gona stay here for 16mths which called THE CAPE.

This will be our new home for my rest of my stay in california. The admin staff Name Kim was kind enough to try to get all the paper work done in 1 day so we can move in the following day. Currently at the moment it was already a Friday. And we gona start work on Monday so it very crucial that we can move in Sat. Beside moving in Sat there is more to come on Day 3.

Day 3

We got a confirm from Kim saying that we can move in on Sat. So we started moving all our luggages. And since we got is a unfurnished unit we gona grab our furniture on the same day as well else we gona sleep on the carpet. By then, we had already returned our car. So we took a long walk to Ikea. Which took us almost 30 mins to walk there. From there every mins count as we need to buy our furniture before 1.30pm else the delivery service can't deliver our furniture on the very same day. We made it in time and they deliver our furniture to our apartment. Then we have to do the installing. By the time we done with the installing, it is almost evening. It was a long and tiring day.

Last Day

Finally got the chance to see the video taken on my very last day on LNS. We really had a wonderful night with all my fun-loving colleagues. After watching those clips, really bring me back all the memories. Although is just around 1.5 years, but really get to know all the great guys there. Thanks to TJ for filming all this great scenes that will never ever happen again.

I got this figure at a very good deal. I got her from the toys convention that held in Suntec City hall 6. I went there on the very last day and the very last hour of the event. I saw some familiar shop owner faces like Uncle Ng, David from Toys N Toys.

This figure caught my attention while i was walking around to hunt for good deal of figures for my photo shot. And this figure caught my attention. The sculpt was pretty decent and produce by Good Smile which is i have confident in their product. So i decided to get her.

This figure is rather simple. Not much toning was giving to the figure but overall the finish is still good. This figure come with a display stand. As for seating character the display stand kinda redundant. I never use those display stand for my siting character.

I actually don't know about this anime call Gad Guard. Not sure any of you guys saw it. This is not the first time i buy figure without knowing their background. As long they look decent, and my budget is not tight i grab it for my photo shoot.

Resin Meer Campbell From E2046

I got this resin figure few months back. I saw this figure quite sometime ago on E2046. For some reason i really like this pose when i look at it. Well, once this is out i bug my friend to order for me since he has connection with E2046.

This is the first figure which i had that has some magnetic thingy on the cast-able parts. The magnetic area is at the bikini. The whole bikini was like a magnet and can just stick onto the body despite the seem was rather thin. It is quite a ingenious idea. This whole figure is fully castable. This cast-able figure have pros and cons.. Well is fun to have your figure able to cast away. However, due to the fact is it resin, those castable part like the skirt had actually scratch on the tummy area and causes some of the paint to fall off... I kinda heartache to see this. Well, despite it is build to be cast away. Is best not to "Cast away" too much. After this shoot i just leave her clothes on. Kinda weird to see her naked on my desk anyway.

It is a good figure which i don't have much complain. Just that i realized the skin tend to be more reflective than the PVC when i taking photos on her. Under normal light the skins look pretty good. However under studio lighting the skin start to look "Oily". Will try to tackle this problem in the future.

Been a long while since my last update. I promised to update some toy picture but i have something i want to dedicate in this post. Alot of things had been just this May alone. Few days ago i was just in BangKok having my holiday enjoying myself. And today morning, i receive a shocking news of my colleague wife had passed away due to cancer. This thing really hit me to really treasure people around you and live your life without regret.

My colleague was 1 of the Co-Founder of Startingdrawing portal. Really respected of how he face and endure the hardship. There is nothing i can do for him. So i hope visitors on my blog can visit his portal.Thanks!

After seeing someone posted their game character in her blog, which reminds me of the old good times when i was playing Lineage 2 and Asheron Call 2. Though i still play some games like Conqueror Online, A3, Grando Espanda and etc. I only manage to find some screen shots of my character in Lineage 2 and Asheron Call 2.

Some of the armor i got throughout for my Sword Singer. For Lineage 2.

This is after i reborn, hybrid class. Hehe, Plate armor with dagger! And have Sword Singer buff!!

The Screenshots here is from Asheron's Call 2. My first MMORPG. Well it was close due to low population. It was a fun game too bad it was close. However Asheron's Call 1 is still around. Kinda a joke. 2 was close down instead of 1. Below was my main Character name Dias. Class is defender and I was the Best Defender in server. :)

After maxing my main Char, i make a ranger class. But a while i got sick of it i skill reset to make her into a bounty hunter. I still remember when turbine trying to fix the ranger class. This class is a total screwed up. This is suppose to be a range class but u can chose to DUAL WIELD and become a melee.

Lamuda was an enchanter. I still remember the time when i put my weapon on the ground and log out and log her in to buff my weapon. Then i log my main character again to take it from the ground. DO NOT TRY ON HIGH POPULATION GAME! Your weapon will be stolen. :)

Rei And Asuka Fraulein Revoltech Review

Finally get some decent pics for my Rei and Asuka. In my previous blog, i do have some shots of them. But i not very happy with the result. So i conducted this shoot again and at the same time writing some review of them. Rei was No1. However Asuka was No 03 on the Fraulein Series. Well No 02 was Rin from Fate Stay Night. In this review i not going to touch alot on Rin.

All the Revoltech figures always came with few pairs of interchangeable hand and some props for them to pose around. For Rei she came with 1 long red spear while Asuka came with a rifle and a doll.

In terms of quality, finished and paint job, Fraulein Series did a very good job. Compare to the older Revoltech Series, this series really worth collecting if this character really interest you. Fraulein Revoltech do have some flaws. 1 thing annoying that the joint are quite loose. The clavicle piece is the easiest to fell off from the torso. Follow by the thigh piece. Well, because of the poseablity, those joint seem to be quite weak. Most of the joint are all ball joint. So greater poseablity came with loose part i guess.

Asuka have problem rotating her head. Her long hair are in the way when you try to rotate the head.

Max Factory are producing their Action Figure which is call Figma. I pre-order Saber. Saber is my first figure from Figma. I will be doing up a review comparing Revoltech and Figma figure once i get my Saber.

Aeris from Square Enix Action Figure Review

I still remember when i saw Aeris was killed by Sehiropth, i cannot believe what had happen. I even replay the whole area just to confirm this. I even went to buy guide book to see if there is anyway to avoid this disaster. But, there is no way around it as this is part of the story plot. Well, i managed to get her back using GAMESHARK. And since is a hacking system, after i got Aeris back, she was permanently stuck on my party. Bascially, i can only change 1 party member.

This figure come with few pair of hands and her staff. The finished and the paint job is the best as to compare to Tifa and Cloud. Another reason why it look pretty decent, is the well hidden joint. I don't have much complain for this figure.

Of all the FF7 Action figure, Aeris was 1 of the pretty well done figure. I recommend this if you are looking for quality FF7 action figure.
